SYNOPSIS

Introduction

This is a Project work undertaken in context of partial fulfilment of BCA. I have tried my best to make the complicated process of Online DTC Management system as simple as possible using Object Oriented Design techniques. I have designed this website in such a way that user may not have any difficulty using this package & further expansion is possible without much effort. Even though I cannot claim that this work to be entirely exhaustive, the main purpose of this exercise is develop a software solution which can be easily used by non-technical person and helps them to complete their day-to-day activities.

I am confident that this software package can be readily used by non-programming personal avoiding human handled chance of error. This project is used by three types of users

1.   Guest Users

2.   Registered Users

3.   Back Office Administrative Users

 

Online Guest Users: -  Online Guest users can only check the Time Table of DTC Bus routes,  Fare stages or Fare Charts, Bus arrival and Departure Time Details ,Details about Hiring a Bus ,Sight Seeing Tours and check the Fare Details of passes and Green Cards. Guest user will not be able to see the details about monthly and yearly passes expiration or validation.

Guest users can perform following functions:

1.   Check the DTC Bus Routes through Find By Bus Numbers and Find by Places.

2.   Check the Fare Details of green cards and monthly or yearly basis Pass.

3.   Can see the details about Hiring a DTC Bus for Long and short distances.

4.   Can Check the Latest News Like Vacancies in DTC Department and Tenders.

Registered Users: - Registered users have Full rights or controls over the Details about creating a Pass with online payment. He/she can Change or edit their Personal information like correction in name, Address and Mobile Number. Registered users can also browse Time Table of DTC Bus routes, Fare stages or Fare Charts and Bus Passes Details according to their Interest. Online website provides user’s detailed information about a Bus Schedule, for example Bus arrival and Departure Details etc. User can login and Sign up to this website for other information like Bus passes details or creating a new pass (Monthly or Yearly) and can edit their Personal Information.

Registered users can perform following functions:

1.   See the Details of Their Passes and Create a New Pass

2.   User can pay the pass charges online

3.   User can edit their Personal Information

4.   Check the Time Table of DTC Bus Routes

5.   Check the Fare Charts

6.   See the Details about Inter-state Bus routes

7.   Details about Hiring a Bus

8.   Time Table of Night Bus Services

9.   Check the Details about Hiring a DTC Bus

Back Office Administrative Users: - Administrator of this website can maintain online music store website using a control panel. Control Panel provides ability to add, update music albums. Only valid user’s can access control panel of website. Administrative user has ability to add more users and provide them appropriate roles to access this website.

Administrative User can perform following functions: - 

1.   Add/Update Fare charts and Fare of Hiring a Bus

2.   Change/Remove any service of Bus.

3.   Remove/Add New Routes and Places

4.   User Management

5.   Reports

6.   Add/Remove Latest News like Vacancies in DTC and Tenders

Objective

Objective of this software project is to create a website which can provide essential information about DTC Buses to the Daily Commuters. As internet is getting popular, this website provides online information to those users who want to check Bus schedule and routes, Fare Details and Hiring a DTC Bus which can be accessed from anywhere, anytime. There is a option Administrative User login where Administrative user manipulates the Data in their own manner.

·         This project intends to introduce more user friendliness in the various activities such as record maintenance and searching.

·         The searching of record has been made quite simple as all the details of the Bus Stands can be obtained by simply keying in few keywords.

·         All information is stored electronically in database and accessible to authorized and Non-authorized users of the system.

·         Administrators of website can create reports to see performance of their business and take corrective action’s based on results.
